LOCAL WOMEN HONORED FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF WOMEN

Central Region AwardeesOctober 27, 2008 – WWC honored four regional champions at one of its year-long thirtieth anniversary celebrations held October 23rd in the Old Fort Western Room at Augusta City Hall. WWC is the only statewide comprehensive women’s education and economic development organization in Maine, with 18 centers throughout the state. The Central Region honored Vicki Baker, Employment and Training Specialist at the Skowhegan CareerCenter, Jeannine Clark, Senior Vice President of Savings Bank of Maine, Christine Macchi, Director of Maine Fiberarts, and Barbara Woodlee, President of Kennebec Valley Community College. The champions were recognized for their efforts on behalf of women in the community.

“We appreciate the role our partners play in supporting the success of women and families in Kennebec and Somerset Counties,” said Jean Dempster, WWC Regional Manager. “We are pleased to be celebrating thirty years of service in the Central Region.”
