Ellsworth Tea

Ellsworth TeaOctober 29, 2008 - WWC lauded Joyce Kleffner for her work with women and communities in Hancock County as part of its 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Ellsworth Public Library. Kleffner is Extension Educator for University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Hancock County.

“Joyce has been an invaluable resource for our microenterprise participants, and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension a great partner to Women, Work and Community,” said Glenon Friedmann, WWC Microenterprise Coordinator in Hancock County.

Juliane Gardner of Castine, a WWC program participant and singer/songwriter performed songs from her CD, “Packsaddle Road.” Lorena Stearns, Creating Your Future graduate, spoke about her WWC experience. The program also showcased local entrepreneurs and highlighted local WWC graduates.   Also featured were three graduates whose stories are among those in “Creating the Future: 30 Stories from the Maine Economy,” soon to be published by WWC: Susan Landry, Annie Shaw, and Holly Arends.
