Western Region 30th Celebration
WWC’s Western Region celebrated champions, partners, and participants at USM’s Lewison/Auburn campus on November 13, 2009. Honored were regional Champions Wendy Newmeyer, Maine Balsam Fir Products; Pam West, Mountain View Chocolate Shoppe; Ray Terrien and Eileen Miazga, Franklin County Adult Education; and Reta Herrick, Lewiston Housing Authority.
Also recognized were six WWC graduates whose stories are included in “Creating the Future: 30 Stories from the Maine Economy:” Shirley Allen of South Paris; Lisa McLeod, Tourmaline Hill Farm; Laurie Ouellette, Sweet Pea Designs; Bob Smith, Maine Oxy; Laurie Thurston, Thurston Masonry and Design; and Pam West, Mountain View Chocolate Shoppe.
The event featured a performance by folk singer and fiddler Lissa Schneckeburger, shown. Young and old danced to the fiddle music and microenterprise graduates displayed their wares.
