WWC Welcomes Summer Interns

Interns 2009

July 16, 2009 – Alanna Dick of Winthrop, back for a second summer, is focused on a microenterprise rural policy project. Clara McConnell of Belgrade is involved in a research and evaluation project within the WWC program areas.  Dick will be a senior at Smith College in Northampton MA, just completing her junior year abroad in Copenhagen.  McConnell is a graduate student at the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

“The experience I gained last year working as the microenterprise policy intern has given me the foundation to work on food and agricultural rural policy issues this summer,” said Dick. “It has been especially fulfilling to be working with WWC as they launched their 30th Anniversary celebrations, and looked back over the many years of achievements as a statewide organization.”

“I’m glad to have the opportunity to work at an organization that is helping Maine women accomplish so much and I look forward to a very rewarding summer,” said McConnell.
